After you’ve been matched with a coach and decided to join Team Sugar Runs, your coach will get to work on creating a custom training plan for you. Generally, your plan will be released to you in one to two week increments. You'll have access to your training plan online via the Final Surge app or website, making it easy to quickly view your schedule and performance details no matter where you are. You’ll also get a copy of the Sugar Runs Nutrition Guide for Runners and at your desired frequency, you can schedule regular check-in calls with your coach to assess your progress and make appropriate adjustments to your training.

Anyone looking to become a better runner. Whether you’re looking to start running, get faster, race smarter, build mental toughness, consistency, or feel stronger - our training will deliver.
-
All athletes must be 18 or older to be coached by Sugar Runs.
-
We accept athletes of all shapes and sizes, however, losing weight is not a primary goal for athletes we accept into our team.
To become a smarter, faster, stronger runner, we encourage our athletes to fuel their bodies appropriately. That typically means eating nutrient rich foods in quantities that are necessary to sustain the demands we put on our bodies. That said, weight loss can be a by product of long-term running.

No, we don’t do any coaching in-person. Instead, we leverage technology to stay connected with our athletes, analyze data, and provide personalized support. All of our coaching is one-on-one and we cater to each individual and their needs.
We coach athletes worldwide and often host in-person meetups at races and running events.
-
Sugar Runs only offers online services and, as a result, generally refers athletes to local resources for gait analysis. Generally, gait analysis is best done in-person.
Note: Gait analysis should be considered if you suffer from recurring injuries or pain and when you're considering getting new running shoes.

Your progress in running is a continuous journey, and every training cycle builds upon the last. Just like any skill, consistency is key—if you pause your training, you might find yourself playing catch-up later. Staying engaged with your coach during the off-season allows you to work on areas that need improvement and ensures you're always race-ready.
-
Our coaches maintain a limited roster based on what they can handle to deliver quality coaching without compromise. If you decide to take a break, your spot may be filled by another athlete. This means you might have to work with a different coach when you decide to return. Our roster spots are in high demand, so a break could lead to starting anew with a different coach and resetting your progress.
-
Yes, we do offer a waitlist option. However, being on a waitlist doesn't guarantee a spot will open up with your desired coach in time for your next race. To avoid this situation, we encourage continuous engagement with your coach to secure your roster position.
-
While no amount of notice can guarantee your roster position after a break, we recommend staying in regular communication with your coach. We also send out reminders to athletes before the start of major training cycles, giving you a chance to secure your spot early.
Remember, your relationship with your coach and consistent training are vital to your growth and success as a runner. Our Team Sugar Runs family is here to support you every step of the way, through peak seasons and the valuable off-season.

Results are different for every athlete. For some, it's hitting a personal record, going for a longer run, or just completing their first race. If you choose to join Team Sugar Runs, you'll definitely see progress, but what that looks like and how much really depends on your goals and how committed you are to the training. We make sure to create training plans that work just for you!
-
We consistently send out feedback surveys to our athletes. This helps us ensure we're meeting their needs and maintaining the high quality of personalized coaching they expect from us.
