About Jenny
I have lived in Vermont my whole life. I am a Physical Therapist and my biggest passion is running. I love running through the four seasons in Vermont, going after big goals, and helping other runners discover their potential.
Gymnastics was my primary sport growing up, although I also spent time ski racing and cross-country running. I competed in gymnastics nationally in the Junior Olympics and throughout college. I was also a recreational and competitive gymnastics coach for 10 years. It wasn’t until I finished gymnastics and went to graduate school in 2011 for Physical Therapy that I truly fell in love with running. I ran my first marathon in 2013, and from then on running became a fundamental part of my life.
I received my Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2014 and have been practicing as a Physical Therapist ever since. I have experience working in outpatient orthopedics, inpatient rehabilitation, and cardiology. The focus of my continuing education has been on all aspects of running including injury treatment and prevention, mental skills, and training methods. I also have my bachelors in Nutrition and enjoy helping athletes maximize their sports nutrition.
Over the past 10 years, I have run 14 marathons including Boston. My PR in the marathon is 3:04, and my PR in the half marathon is 1:26. I enjoy running 5k and 10k races too. I have been self-coached for a long time, but I have also worked with several coaches and the benefit of having a support team is so important.
Whether you are recovering from an injury, going after a big goal, or looking for longevity in the sport, I love working with runners of all ages and abilities. I am excited to share my knowledge and offer coaching services at Sugar Runs to help you become the runner you dream of. No matter what your goals are, you are capable of so much and individualized training can help make sure you have the best journey along the way.
