About Sandee
I am originally from Great Neck, New York but have lived in Northern California for the last 14 years. I have been married for almost 9 years to my husband Billy, and together we have a daughter (Jocelyn) and two dogs (Hercules and Juno). I am an attorney by trade, but my true passion in life is running and working with others to help them reach their goals and dreams. To say that I am obsessed with running and the sport of running would be an understatement.
Growing up, I always had a passion for sports and fitness, playing basketball, volleyball, and softball in high school. I wanted to be a runner; however, I constantly came up with a plethora of excuses that kept me anywhere close to a starting line. "I didn't have the right body type", "I have exercise induced asthma", "I get shin splints", "I’m too slow" were some of them. Finally, after spectating a local race and watching runners of all ages and body types accomplish their goals with tears of joy and jubilation, I said to myself "well, why NOT me? You'll never know unless you try". The next day, I took a deep breath, quieted the negative talk, and took my first stride. I started my 29th year running a 5K, and began my 30th running my first marathon...11 weeks pregnant! I always tell my daughter she has run a 5K, 10K, half marathon, and marathon all while she was in the womb! No wonder why she enjoyed running in the jogging stroller so much as a toddler!
Over the years, I have completed 19 half marathons and 7 marathons, with my last two marathon times qualifying me for the Boston Marathon in 2023. I have also completed several Spartan races, which are challenging and fun in their own (messy) way! I currently hold a 1:39 half PR and 3:25 marathon PR.
Coaching others to recognize their true potential, work hard, and ultimately 'own their moment' is the ultimate bucket filler. It's easy to talk yourself out of something that is challenging or out of your personal comfort zone, and that's where I find the benefits of a coach to be significant. I have been a NASM Certified Personal Trainer since 2013, and previously coached at a boutique fitness studio specializing in running, rowing, and strength training. During the COVID shutdown, I recognized my desire to increase my knowledge of running and to help other athletes by creating individualized training programs. I obtained my RRCA Level 1 certification in January 2021, and have never looked back.
I look forward to learning more about you and supporting you on your journey towards reaching your goals and dreams!
