Bob and Brad C2 Pro Massage Gun Review

Bob and Brad sent me a complimentary massage gun in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own. This blog post may contain affiliate links.

I was excited when Bob and Brad’s team reached out to me to review their new C2 Pro massage gun. I’ve had a Theragun for several years, but have been interested in how other massage guns on the market compared. I got back into running after meniscus repair surgery about 10 weeks ago, so the timing of sending me this product was perfect. All the muscle soreness ensued when teaching my body how to run again and this massage gun came in handy!

If you aren’t familiar with Bob and Brad, they are a physical therapy team that has a huge YouTube library of videos with helpful information and tips on how to alleviate pain and stay healthy in your fitness pursuits.

Do you need a massage gun?

Massage guns can be helpful tools to have in your recovery routine. Now, if you aren’t getting adequate sleep, fueling properly, or recovering between hard sessions, no additional recovery tools will help you. But if you’ve got sleep, nutrition, and recovery down, then a massage gun can be something that ups your game by alleviating sore muscles, reducing tightness, and providing relief after tough workouts or long runs. I would argue that massage guns are a perk, but not a necessity to training.

What’s so cool about the C2 Pro Massage Gun?

Major pros for me were: light, easy to use, interchangeable heads for specific uses, and battery.

As I mentioned, I have a Theragun, but it is pretty heavy. In comparison, the C2 Pro massager is extremely light. My arms don’t get tired using it and it is smaller than the Theragun, making it easy to use on your own. I would argue the C2 Pro handle is more ergonomic than the triangular Theragun. The C2 Pro also has a variety of levels that you can access from 1-5 (vs 2 for the Theragun) so you can guage how intense you want the massage to be and incrementally work your way up to something suitable for you and your needs.

There are 5 different tips you get with the C2 Pro massage gun, including one that features a heat or ice option, which is unique. I like to use the heat option before a run or workout to warm up my calves and quads. The cold option could be good for acute issues that arise post run. I use the ball head the most because it helps with those large muscle groups (quads, hamstrings, glutes) that are most sore following a run or strength session.

The battery display let’s you know when its time to recharge, which is another nice feature that I enjoyed. My Theragun just dies on me when it’s done - womp womp!

Here’s a quick unboxing video going through all of the different heads and overall thoughts on the device:
