2019 in Review: Leveling Up
The end of a year is always a good time to look back at what we did with the last 365 days. I often set a few goals at the end of each year (not so much a resolution gal, but to each their own!), and I check back on them at the end of the year to see what I did or didn’t get to. After CIM it was hard not to feel disappointed with missing my huge personal goal of running a sub-3, but when I took the time to look back at my year, it was clear that I accomplished so much - a lot of which I couldn’t have done on my own!
CIM Race Recap
First, thanks to everyone who tracked me and sent messages of encouragement and congratulations last weekend. You probably already know that I did not run a sub 3 hour marathon. I came SO close though and ran a 3:01:24. 85 seconds away from goal. Crossing the finish line was a huge mix of emotions and tears, but let’s start from the beginning to how I got there.
Well, That Came Quick - My Fall Racing Plans!
When you run a late June marathon, the fall season pops up on you pretty quickly, so I’ve gotta get my racing plans out there! I definitely have a desire to race more this season because I didn’t race a ton during my Grandma’s buildup because running another marathon during your marathon training really wears you out! I want to use my races during the fall as check in points for my fitness to make sure I’m on track for my sub 3 hour marathon goal or to adjust if needed.
Boston Marathon Tips!
We’re officially a week out from Boston and it’s time for all the excitement! This will be my second time running Boston - last time was in that 2017 heat wave! I know there are tons of blog posts out there about how to approach this weekend and race, but I thought it would be a good idea to put together a post for first timers and for myself as I’ve had the chance to revisit my first Boston experience and some of the things I wish I’d done differently.
2019 Is Finally Here - Goals for the New Year!
I have never been more happy to say goodbye to a year as I am to 2018. This year was ROUGH for me. It has been one of the most trying years physically, emotionally, and mentally.
Eugene Marathon Race Recap
I'm not going to lie - I am so surprised at my race results. I mean, my last post about training clearly stated I was slowly dying from training and this may not be my time to run a marathon.
2017 NYC Marathon Race Recap - A NEW PR!
Marathon recaps are so hard... mostly because it's such a long race, how can I remember every moment??? But I want to relive this race over and over because it was the BEST RACE EVER!!!!!!!!
2017 Boston Marathon Race Recap
Boston has been my dream. It was hard to get here, and it was even more difficult to race this marathon successfully.
Week 3 & 2 - Boston Marathon Training + Taper
My goal for the coming week is to focus on hydration and getting it in each day. I know that the small things I do throughout this week leading up to my race will make a huge difference on race day.
Week 4 - Boston Marathon Training
This week was good. After 2 really tough long runs a few weeks ago, I nailed my long run this past weekend.
